How It All Started
You’ve heard tall tales of big fish, but this story is legendary!
The Bass Pro Shops Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee wouldn’t be possible without a buddy fishing trip and one big catch! In 2005, Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops, Bill Dance, famous angler and TV show host, and Jack Emmitt, Bass Pro’s first fishing manager, charted their course on the Mississippi River and ended with a legendary catch – a 30-pound catfish which helped stake a claim to the iconic Memphis Pyramid.
